I see the main page of the site is actually 8/10, and the main page of the forum is 3/10, so I think I probably got misled by looking at a page inside the forum.

Just more evidence that I don't thoroughly understand PR.

Ok, I misread the PR on the main page.  When I came to the main page directly from my google/ig page, the 8/10 rating stayed up for about 10 seconds -- then updated to 3/10.  Apparently there is a substantial lag time in the google PR toolbar widget.
